Beet root is a part of the regular meal in the Southern Indian states, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Beet roots are low in calories, high in fibre, Beetroot chutney is a colourful recipe made in South India and is served with rice, chapathi, idly and dosai.

Dry red chilli 4-5 Numbers
Peanuts 1 Tablespoons
Chana dal 1 Teaspoons
Urad dal 1 Teaspoons
Cumin seeds 1/2 Teaspoons
Oil 1 Tablespoons
Green chilli 4-5 Numbers
Beet root 200 Grams
Salt 1 0
Mint 1/2 Bunch
Coriander 1/2 Bunch
Garlic 4-5 Clove
Lemon juice 1 Tablespoons

1. In a hot pan add red chilli, peanuts, chana dal, urad dal, cumin seeds dry roast all the ingredients and make it into a powder.

2. Heat oil in a pan add green chilli, grated beetroot, mint and coriander leaves, salt cook for 3-4 minutes then transfer this into the blender and add garlic, lemon juice make it into a paste.

3. Serve with chapati.
